In a landscape where Millennial Beige reigns supreme, Kasia’s art is a call to embrace colour, movement and play by creating one burger at a time.

Through her dynamic paintings, Kasia reimagines the familiar, transforming a simple comfort food into bold, quirky and abstract compositions. Drawing inspiration from the childhood admonition, “Don't play with your food," her work celebrates the joyful chaos that preparing and eating it brings. Her background in professional food styling has seen Kasia spend years perfecting picture-perfect meals for fast-food industry giants with her commercial work reaching millions of viewers globally.

In her paintings she lets go of the constraints of food styling and embraces spontaneity, abstraction and the natural imperfections that come with a slow medium like painting. Her burger artworks capture the essence of play by featuring visual elements like squiggly mustard, hypnotic beetroot and diced onion that dances across the bun. More than just a visual delight these paintings challenge the notion that art must be serious, restrained or exclusive. “I want my work to feel like it’s hungry for life,” Kasia explains. “Food is a sensory experience, colour is energy and exploration is something we should continue into adulthood — Play isn’t just for children.”

This perspective extends to her thoughts on ‘‘Millennial Beige" — the colour of playing it safe. The neutral, the expected and the inoffensive. Sykus is not here for it. “We’ve been told for years that beige is timeless, that it’s sophisticated,” she says. “But at some point it started feeling like an erasure.. we’re flattening everything interesting about our environments and ourselves. Where’s the energy and thoughtful detail?” Through her artwork she urges people to rethink not just the art they hang on their walls but also how they approach creativity in everyday life. “Try something new. Wear a color you never thought you’d wear. Cook a meal with an ingredient you’ve never used before. Take a risk. Creativity isn’t just about making art —it’s about how we choose to engage with the world.”

By transforming her paintings into accessible art prints, Kasia ensures that bold, expressive art isn’t just for galleries or collectors.. it’s for everyone. “Art should be something you live and interact with and draw energy from,” she says. In a world dominated by mass-produced products and generic design Kasia calls for the return of detail, personality and individuality. “Taking up space,” she argues, “Isn’t just about occupying a room it’s about making intentional choices that reflect who we are rather than settling for what’s safe, expected or algorithm-approved.”

Through her work, Kasia invites the viewer to reconsider the role of play in their lives by recognising that joy isn’t something we outgrow — it simply takes on new forms. Her paintings serve as a reminder that the objects we surround ourselves with should spark curiosity, excitement and connection. Because life, much like a good burger, is meant to be savoured.
